Having fun with Walgreens Register Rewards
The hardest part about using Walgreens RR is making sure to use them before they expire. When they print out, you have 2 weeks to use them. I have had some success lately with buying their items that are "free" after RR, therefore rolling my RR over for another 2 weeks. I built up $20 (for free) during last weeks sale on vitamins. So, here is how I have rolled them for 2 more weeks:
I did 4 transactions:
#1
1 Plackers Flossers $2.00
1 Tone Body Wash $3.99
Used:
$0.50 Plackers MFG Q
$5.00 RR
Total OOP: $0.91
Received: $2 Plackers RR, $3 Tone RR
#2-4
1 Plackers Flossers $2.00
1 Tone Body Wash $3.99
Used:
$0.25 Plackers MFG Q (Noticed these inside package so I opened them up and used them)
$5.00 RR
Total OOP: $1.16x3=$3.48
Received: (3)$2 Plackers RR, (3)$3 Tone RR
Total Spent OOP:$4.49
Total RR Received: $20
Total Saved: $29.21
Hope that is helpful in learning how to roll RR.

January Totals
This was my first full month of "serious" couponing. I have tracked the savings just to see if it is worth the effort. Take a look and see what you think:
Total Shelf Price: $1,289.15
Total Coupons: $683.54
Total Savings: $967.14
Total Spent: $322.01
Savings Rate: 75.02%
I would say that was worth the effort. It was a little more than I had planned to spend, but the stockpile is building. I have learned a lot this month and look forward to the deals ahead. Thanks to my wife for helping to go out and get some of these great deals.
Best Deal of January:
Transferred 3 prescriptions to Rite Aid. Total cost: $54.64. Received 3 $25 gift cards! The best part is that I found a discount card for Rx that is free. All you need to do is print the card and give it to your pharmacy, if they participate. It is processed just like insurance. One of my Rx was normally $25 with my insurance. They also ran the discount card and it came out to only $15.64!!! Here is a link for more info:

Money Maker at Wal-Mart
You can print a $2.00 off Renu Fresh Multi Purpose Contact Lens Solution here. Wal-Mart has the small size in the travel size section for $1.47. The coupon does not say excludes trial size. I have used it and it has worked to get the full $2.00 off. So, free solution and an extra .53 cents...not bad. If you don't need the solution, you can always donate it.

Getting Started
I have been amazed over the last month at how investing a little time each week into research and planning can save huge amounts of money at the grocery and drug stores. I am currently saving at a rate of 71% when I go to the grocery stores. I thought I would try to collect the resources that I use in one place and share them with friends and family. I am by no means an expert at this...yet. As I find good deals, I will share them and hope that you can save a few bucks as well.
